Glasgow, United Kingdom, September 11, 2009
The X Factor's Glasgow auditions have taken place at Hampden Park
football stadium on a rather rainy Saturday in May. This will be the
first time the judges have met for the new show. As part of the show
format Bradfords Bakers have been asked to design a special
shortbread X Factor shaped logo which is to be handed out to the
waiting auditionees.
The company was approached in late April to create a replica of the
famous X Factor logo and to create miniature versions which could be
given to the crowd awaiting the arrival of Simon Cowell, Louis
Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole.
Bradfords have been making quality natural products since 1924 and
was voted Glasgow's favourite business with the largest vote in the
competition's 10 year history. To create the logo the confectioners
used icing on a large cake board which was then trimmed with red
icing. The bakers created by hand the famous X logo in all butter
shortbread which was then attached to the board and the lettering
was piped in place.
Simon Cowell was asked his opinion of the miniature shortbread and
proceeded to eat one of the small X Factor logo shortbread's, Simon
quipped "Im half Scottish and this is the best shortbread i have
tasted".
